I chose this quote because I feel it is something that has become far too common in today’s society. With the introduction of instagram and other social media outlets to this generation it’s very common for people to compare their lives to others they see online, especially women. The perfect aesthetic that is constantly seen online can have a very negative affect on people in real life. The simple truth to most of the things you see online is that they simply aren’t as good as they seem. With things like women it’s a trendy common thing to have the ideal fit body in most eyes, especially young teenagers. The problem with teenage girls being exposed to such things as this is that they are constantly comparing themselves to others in order to feel or have status. This leads to nothing but problems. It causes girls to perhaps not eat in order to maintain or try to attain that aesthetic seen all over the internet, but that shouldn’t be the case. It can lead to depression and many other negative things as well. It can be easy to fall into that trap, but if you stay focused on your self improvement and on what you have to do as an individual rather than worrying about other people you will go a lot further.
